Salama ( her sire was Splice The Main Brace who was related to Saddlers Wells a famous racehorse) was an Anglo-Arab who never raced. She was a good little jumper who liked to think she was a little racehorse! When I used to let her have a gallop out on old racetrack she would feel very pleased with herself thinking she was really fast. My eyes would never water whilst galloping her unlike the ex-racehorses! She was broken in (trained for riding) at the stable and was a bit of a bucker outside at the beginning! A lot of riders enjoyed riding Salama in dressage and she was one of their favorites to ride. She was a little difficult for people to ride a full course of jumps on unless very experienced as if you touched her mouth whilst going towards the jump she would run! For a little horse she had a big jump!
