Shakhoora Riding Centre over the years has developed a good and well- respected reputation in the care of horses. The stable yard has a quiet and relaxed atmosphere for the owner who wants to just enjoy time out away from the stress of work or the general busy everyday life.
The facilities include: two lit schooling arenas, one jumping paddock, (with jumps) turnout paddocks, two wash bays, toilets, coffee room, two tack rooms, well-ventilated stables with fans with automatic water-drinkers, air-conditioned stables and feed room.
The horses are fed three times a day on good quality concentrate feed, hay and alfalfa. The horses are carefully monitored according to their needs diet wise e.g. yearlings, old horses or competing horses.
Livery packages can be tailor-made to suit your needs the basic ones being:Full livery: The horse bedded on shavings is fully taken care of by our staff. This includes daily turnout, cleaning of the bed, feeding, turnout, basic cleaning and checking for any cuts etc. Washed during the summer months. The horse will be put on a worming, shoeing, teeth and vaccination programme the horses are carefully monitored increasing or decreasing their feed according to their needs.
Semi-livery: the stable is cleaned daily, the feed put in and the horse turned out daily and checked. The bedding and food is to be provided by the owner.
DIY: the stable is rented and everything is provided and done by the owner
The manager is on hand for any advice and guidance needed in the care of your horse. We have experience in looking after all ages and types of horses from orphaned foals to old age pensioners!
The stables are surrounded by trees providing that all important breeze especially during the summer.
Each stable as a fan and automatic drinker. The horses are bedded on wood shavings. There are a number air-conditioned stable for horses which cannot take the extreme summers.
We try to provide the best possible location for your horse dependent on size, sex and temperament. Though horses are sociable in general some horses don't actually enjoy being given too much attention by passers by!
There are two lit schooling arenas and a large jumping arena. There is always a place to be able to concentrate on your riding. The area for hacking is easily accessible from our location.
A coffee room gives you a chance to cool down and relax.
The stables are well secure with sensor lights etc as well as dogs!
Only the best feed possible is provided for full liveries. Horses are given freshly cut alfalfa on a daily basis something they particularly enjoy as there are no grass fields here!
We make sure that only good quality hay is provided as the all important fibre needed by horses.
The two main concentrate feed provided being sports mix and sport cubes is given three times a day. We use Havens and Dodson and Horrell which are world renowned quality horse feeds given to a variety of horses/ponies from the average happy hacker to top class Olympic competition horses.
The horses are put on a carefully monitored diet throughout the year. Advice would be given regarding providing alternative (e.g fibre based cubes for the laminitic prone horse/pony) or an extra type of feed or supplement when needed.
We have experience with all types of horses and ponies. We have provided care to orphaned foals, foaling mares and old timers who need that extra care in their twilight years.
Over the years we have rejuvenated many horses that have come in a poor state through not having been provided the proper care previously.
Our staff are experienced in dealing with all types of horses from young foals, thoroughbreds, warmbloods to rather excitable stallions.
We provide an all round care from hoof care regime to checking for any cuts etc. The grooms observe when any horse is off their feed etc. and are quick to update the manager.
The horses are put on a teeth, worming, vaccination and shoeing programme. All horses are on a daily turnout programme.
As a livery owner you can feel free to either to do or not have to worry about maintaining these various cares which are the important part of caring for your horse.
